ESOL Coordinator



Sandra joined the staff at the UT Center for Literacy Studies (CLS) in 2000.  She has a Masters in Educational Counseling, as well as graduate studies in English as a Second Language.  Sandra’s formerly served as ABE/GED and Professional Development Framework and Tracking System Coordinator at the Center.

Sandra’s introduction into the field of adult education began when she taught English for Students of Other Languages prior to coming to CLS.  During that time, she collaborated with the Center to organize two international conferences between Tennessee ESOL instructors and the faculty of Universidad Autonoma de Nayarit in Tepic, Nayarit, Mexico. 

Sandra assumed the position of ESOL Professional Development Coordinator for the Center in February 2005.  She currently works with the Tennessee Division of Adult Education to plan and implement professional development training for ESOL programs across the state.
