Veronica McKinney
Account Representative

Veronica McKinney is a regional Account Representative with the DRS Corporate Connections Program.  In this role she works as a business consultant, providing services to increase employment opportunities for individuals served by the Tennessee Department of Human Services, Division of Rehabilitation Services.  Veronica conducts outreach and marketing activities to promote the benefits of employing people with disabilities within the business community.  She provides professional development and employment services to assist Tennessee businesses in recruiting, hiring and retaining qualified employees.  As a regional employment resource, Veronica is located in the Memphis, Tennessee state office building and has been in this role since 2001.
Veronica’s experience, over the past 23 years, has led to her success in providing employment services for individuals with disabilities, as well as removing barriers to employment. She has worked with various local, state, and federal government programs, including five years as a Vocational Placement Specialist with Southeast Mental Health Center in Memphis, to provide those individuals with mental health disabilities educational services and benefits counseling.

As a DRS Account Representative, Veronica has conducted training, and marketed programs in the Memphis and Shelby County region to enhance awareness within the business and lay communities, providing education in the areas of disability awareness and employment.  Working closely with government employers, including the Internal Revenue Service, Veteran’s Hospital, Memphis City Government, the Office of Federal Contracts and Compliance Programs, and the Tennessee Workforce Investment Agency, as well as local businesses, including Nike, Wal-Mart, International Paper, Marriott International, Medtronic, and Federal Express, she has proved to be invaluable in highlighting the services of DRS and Corporate Connections.

Collaborating with Memphis City Schools Exceptional Children and Health Services and the Workforce Investment Network since 2008, Veronica has helped more than 200 high school juniors and seniors, and DRS employment candidates to receive employment mentoring opportunities with more than 23 businesses to date.

Veronica has a B.S. degree in Business Management and Marketing, as well as a Master’s degree in Business Administration.
