Dr. Connie White, Associate Director
Child and Family Programs

Connie came to the Center for Literacy Studies in 1990, after teaching in elementary and middle school special education and volunteering in adult literacy.  Serving as an Associate Director at the Center, Connie’s primary work is managing contracts with the Tennessee Department of Education for Reading First and the State Improvement Grant.

This work includes supporting professional development for teachers and administrators, providing technical assistance, writing, editing, and serving on advisory groups.

In her spare time, Connie enjoys working on the farm where she lives, reading, and spending time with her family.
