Kristie Wright, Consultant
Event Coordinator

In January 2011, Kristie  joined the Center for Literacy Studies. She is a coordinator on the Event Staff, planning conferences and events for Adult Education and Child and Family grants.

Kristie graduated summa cum laude from The University of Tennessee with a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and a minor in Child Development. She graduated with a Master’s degree in Human Development and Family Studies from The University of North Carolina at Greensboro.

Kristie worked for the Social Work Office of Research and Public Service as an Assessment Specialist. At SWORPS, she conducted reliability checks on assessors as they monitored child care quality in child care and after school programs.

Following her love of planning, Kristie left SWORPS to work as a wedding planner for five years. She owned her own business and helped in over 115 weddings and events. She now helps plan and organize conferences and events for the Center for Literacy Studies.
